              Dear Contestant:

             The Delcambre Shrimp Festival and Fair Association would like to welcome you as a contestant 
             competing for the title of 58^th Delcambre Shrimp Queen.  Our festival queen travels throughout
             the state and attends the  Mardi Gras Ball in Washington, D.C.

             Practice (not mandatory) will be held on Friday,July 25 th at 7:30pm at the Delcambre Shrimp
             Festival Building. The Building is located on Richard Street off of Highway 14. Dress is casual
             and you can bring your shoes to practice. Practice will be kept to a minimal amount of time due to
             ALL divisions practicing.  Contestants need to prepare for a 90 second on stage introduction and must
             include your name and number.

             The contest is scheduled for Saturday, July 26th. Contestants must make their own
             arrangements for travel and lodging if necessary ( New Iberia is 12 miles from Delcambre and
             Abbeville is 9 miles).  This day begins with an interview at 10:30am at Delcambre Elementary Cafeteria. The
             school is located on Hwy 14 in Delcambre. Each contestant will be interviewed round robin style. Please
             be prompt. We will be begin at 10:30 sharp and interviews will be in number order! The coronation will begin
             at 5:00pm and contestants need to arrive by 4:30pm. you may dress upon arrival, but dressing space is
             limited to restrooms. A formal of any color is accepted.

                          
             ALL QUEENS AND A PARENT will be required to sign a contract after the pageant. Be sure to review the
             contract prior to sending in your entry.  CONTESTANTS CONNOT HOLD A TITLE AT THE TIME OF
             COMPETITION. For additional information on the festival and review the queen's contract, please

             Our festival dates are August 13^th thru August 17^th.  It is mandatory for the queen to spend
             to spend Friday night thru Sunday at 2pm.

             An entry fee of $100.00 and a photo no larger than a 5x7 must be enclosed with your 2 page
             form.  Photogenic is optional for an additional fee of $15.00.  The entry fee may be from an
             organization, parents or place of business.

             THE DEADLINE DATE FOR THIS CONTEST IS FRIDAY, JULY 18^TH AT 5:00PM. 
              NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE AND TIME!  NO EXCEPTIONS
              ARE MADE.  MAIL YOUR FORM, PICTURE AND FEE IMMEDIATELY. (Money order or cash only)
